Gerard van den Brandhof lijsttrekker waterschapsverkiezingen
dinsdag 25 november 2014 23:00 De kandidatenlijst van de ChristenUnie voor Waterschap Vallei en Veluwe is definitief vastgesteld door de Gelderse en Utrechtse kiesverenigingen.
Onze voorzitter Gerard van den Brandhof is gekozen als lijsttrekker. Hij maakt sinds 2009 deel uit van het dagelijks bestuur van het waterschap, het college van dijkgraaf en heemraden. Hij heeft stedelijk waterbeheer in zijn portefeuille en is tevens dagelijks bestuurslid van Het Waterschapshuis, de ICT organisatie van de waterschappen.
De kandidatenlijst presenteert huidig fractievolger en commissielid André van Dijk uit Barneveld op nummer 2 van de lijst.
Op nummer 3 staat de 32-jarige Stephan de Bruin uit Nijkerk. Hij werkt bij de gemeente Utrecht en heeft veel ervaring met stedelijk waterbeheer.
Op nummer 4 staat de 26-jarige Sander van ’t Foort uit Renswoude. Hij brengt zijn kennis over duurzaamheid in, en gaat voor een win-win oplossing in de afweging tussen economie en ecologie.
Voor de tweede keer worden waterschapsverkiezingen gehouden op basis van een lijstenstelsel. Dit keer vallen de waterschapsverkiezingen voor het eerst onder de kieswet. Ook nieuw is dat deze verkiezingen gelijktijdig worden georganiseerd met die van Provinciale Staten.
Het gebied van Waterschap Vallei en Veluwe strekt zich uit langs de oostgrens van Hattem tot Wageningen, en van Hattem tot Soest langs de westgrens met grote steden als Apeldoorn en Amersfoort en totaal meer dan 1,1 miljoen inwoners. Zowel op de Noord-West Veluwe als in de Gelderse Vallei heeft de ChristenUnie een grote aanhang, en is in vele colleges vertegenwoordigd. Ook in de grote steden Apeldoorn en Amersfoort maakt de ChristenUnie deel uit van het college. Op basis van de uitslag van de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen hoopt de ChristenUnie op een goede uitslag van de verkiezingen op 18 maart 2015.
De ChristenUnie staat voor verantwoord waterbestuur, verantwoorde keuzes en verantwoorde kosten. Dit doen we graag door in gesprek te gaan met u als inwoner of bedrijf.
